This sublime pâte de verre paperweight was made by Almeric Walter (1870-1959), on of the most acclaimed Art Déco designers, and Henri Bergé (1870-1937), one of Daum's top artists. They were contemporaries of Argy-Rousseau (1885-1953).
The apparent heavy shape of the bird is beautifully balanced by its night blue color, with its head lighter, as if slowly bathed into daylight.
Please let me know if you have some questions.
The bird is in impeccable condition and bears both Walter's and Bergé's signatures.
