A wonderful kogai (hairpin) made with lacquered wood and inlaid gold, dating from the Meiji-Taisho period (1868-1926). The hairpin ends are carved in minute details to depict two birds perched in abundant foliage; the work of a master craftsman. The kogai is signed Nagamasa.
