This elegant chawan (tea bowl) dates from the Edo period (1615-1868). It is of small size and was probably used as a tabi-chawan (travel bowl) or for an outdoor tea ceremony.
As many vessels of that era, it is unmarked and it is difficult to say where it was made, but its finely crackled glaze and abstract underglaze markings certainly make it an attractive bowl.
Please let me know if you have some questions.
