A superb set of one kushi (comb) and one kogai (hair pin) made in the maki-e style of lacquer. The set dates from Meiji period (1868-1912).

Flowery motifs rendered in multicolored lacquer and mother of pearl decorate both comb and pin in sublime details showing remarkable craftsmanship.

The set is in overall good condition; some loss of lacquer and mother of pearl, as well as damage to both comb and pin, is visible (please refer to pictures).
