Three Footed Carved Ceadon Censer Yuan
The base burnt red in the firing touching the ground so that the three small feet hold the censer only when it is resting on its wooden stand, the rows of concentric circles carved on the exterior rising up from the foot with the exterior covered in a light celadon brown crackle glaze, the interior glazed white but the cavetto unglazed. Yuan. 5 in. diam.

Condition: Excellent except for a h tight hairline as shown in the photographs that may have been from the firing.

Provenance: Acquired in New York City in 1987.

Celadon censers from the Yuan period are no longer available in the American market.
