Covered overall with a rich flambe glaze the interior with a cavetto glazed in light brown surrounded by a raised rim glazed white, the gently rising interior sides leading to the barbed rim interspersed with bands of blue flambe glaze giving way to the rim glazed white, the exterior molded in sections and also covered overall with a rich flambe, the base glazed in the same light brown as the cavetto. 18th C. 8 3/4 in. diam.
Condition: Perfect. No chips, cracks, hairlines or other damages, Provenance: Acquired in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1989. It is very unusual to find a flambe saucer of this design and glaze and even more rare to find one of this size, suggesting that it may have been used to hold something other than a cup.
