Standing Fudo-Myo Acala Wooden Sculpture Edo

Standing Fudo-Myo in unfinished wood. Late-Edo Period ca. 1850. Loss of flame mandorla as well as the rope originally held in the figure's left hand and the upper portion of the sword held in the right hand.

Overall height, including rock-form dais and detailed plinth: 23.2 cm
Height of Fudo-Myo figure only: 16. 5 cm
Width of dais: 11.4 cm
Depth of dais: 8.0 cm.

A finely sculpted, fiercely expressive Fudo-Myo.
