Seated Amida Buddha sculpted in wood, the hands placed centrally on the lap in the Amida jo-in concentration mudra. Yosegi-zukuri joined-block construction, lacquer and gilt finish, and eyes of inset crystal. Clearly dated on the bottom surface to the 10th year of the Kanbun Era (1670), early-Edo Period. Excellent condition, with desirable patination overall. Height, including dais: 28.5 cm |
