Stone depiction of a standing Jizo Bosatsu, the hands forming the gassho adoration mudra. Late-Muromachi/early-Edo ca. 1600. Overall surface erosion and good lichen accumulation. Height: 25.5 cm A small-scale piece sculpted from a reddish sandstone in an unusual rectangular style, with significant age abundantly apparent. When just a hint of Jizo will do. Uncommon. |
