This is a grand size French baguette keeper used in the Patisserie to display their breads. Decorators: This would be a great piece for floral arrangements, umbrella holders, or French country decor.
Great old French baskets found while shopping the markets in France. The large round one, the first of it's kind that I've found, measures approx 29" across and is almost 20" from bottom to top of handle. There is also a standing basket used to sell baquettes. Another basket has a lid which closes and a wooden rod weaves through to keep it closed. There is one more which is very interesting and I'm not sure what it's purpose was...
Large size French champagne baskets with handles and marking of the vineyard. Photo shows two baskets, one stacked inside of the other.
French baskets used for serving baguettes or French bread. Could also be used to hold rolls, croissants, etc; but most designers and decorators use for decor. Older and newer baskets available.
French bread basket is great for wall decor and, or table use. Great for picnics to add the French country romantic ambience.
French basket variety, two of which a shown here. Some have loops of woven wicker which the lid closes over and an old branch is seeded through to fasten. Some have metal latches. Some with the woven open window was probably used to carry birds.
