French Graniteware Enamelware Canist
Lovely French canister, white with gold trim and lettering and decorated with roses. The shape of the body has a thick raised vertical band around the center, with a blocked area where the beautiful gold script identifies the contents, chicoree. Four roses spaced around the top, adorns the lid. On the body there are two bands, one along the top and the other along the bottom. The bands consist of an ornate black laced with blue trim followed by a ring of flowers which are large rose, small flowers, large rose, etc. Creativity allows for a variety of uses. Great organizer, a beautiful way to hide clutter; throw in your pocket change and bills each night for an easy savings routine; use as flower pot to hold your potted herbs or flowers. Measure 7" from bottom to top of lid finial, and 4 3/4" across. There are some dings which is typical of vintage and antique graniteware, but it only adds to it's French country character.
