Vintage German Textile, Monogram, Unique Damask
Vintage Germany textiles are very unique, interesting and beautiful work. I purchased 5 at a German antique and flea market. Each are very long and are labeled, Rolltuch, which as I understand it, was used by rolling through the old drying wringer along with the washed clothing, to use in the wringing and drying process. Their length makes them great for decor such as tablecloth, runner, drapes, etc. I have a pair with red trim that match; a pair with blue trim that match; and then a single with red trim. The pair with red trim also has a mongram. The sooo unique damask includes scenes such as the old washing machines, a woman hanging clothes out to dry with a rooster near her; and gnomes on see/saw, baskets, flowers and gardens. The ones with red trim measure approximately 6' 11 1/2" long and 3' 1" wide; the blue is approx 9' 5 1/2" by 3' 1". I'm uncertain about the age. Estimate early to mid 1900s.
