A scarce survivor. This is an English ironstone teapot in the Isola Bella blue and white transfer pattern, made c1850 by Adams. This teapot measures 10-1/2" from spout to handle and it stands 7-3/4" tall. It has the Adams mark in use from 1819-64, and this table accessory is in very good condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than a hairline crack at the handle, some staining to the finial and some minor chipping to the inside rim under the lid. It has the expected frit and irregularities from the making in a piece this old. A simply superb,wonderfully detailed and high quality glazed English moulded relief stoneware jug or pitcher by T.J. & J. Mayer. This 9-1/2" tall ewer has a chocolate brown stippled ground on which is laid very thick allegorical scenes with palm trees in greyish coloured clay. It is known as the Paul and Virginia design. The hand-carved detail is stunning and even the handle is decorated with fronds and a stalk. The lip has two holes for the fitting of a pewter lid which was an option with these jugs - this example was never fitted. It has the stamped T.J.&J. MAYERS PATENT mark with DALE HALL POTTERY LONGPORT under the Royal Arms mark which was in use from c1843-55. It also has a No 102 18 pattern mark and the registry number for 1850. This item is in superb original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some faint crazing on the glazed interior only. A great example of this Victorian decorative style. A high relief early to mid-19th century 6-1/8" tall salt glazed stoneware pitcher or jug. This pitcher has an allegorical scene with grapes and vines; it is unsigned and it has a nice medium blue colour. The 5-1/2" milk jug and the 7-3/4" across ten-sided plate both have floral hand painted designs; they have both copper and pink lustre with green leaves and flow blue decoration. A 6-3/4" hexagonal shaped English bone china trivet in the Bamboo pattern, produced by E J D Bodley of Burslem, England. A superb and rare Linthorpe high relief 8" English pottery plate signed by Christopher Dresser c1880. This plate features a naturalistic branch with leaves with a rustic white/yellow glaze on the front and no glazing on the back. It is stamped LINTHORPE Ch. Dresser HT on the back; Dresser was the designer for this factory c1879-89 and Henry Tooth was the manager prior to 1883, making the date of manufacture 1879-83. This is an early Scottish large blue transferware well and tree meat platter with a scene of London, England in blue transfer c1840. This platter stands on two bracket feet and the juice well; it is stamped R.A.K. & Co. UNITED KINGDOM LONDON for R.A Kidston and Co. Finnieston (part of Glasgow) Scotland who used this mark from 1838-1845. The Coysh & Henrywood Blue and White Printed Pottery reference book mentions this series, but not this actual scene of London - I have never run across this pattern piece before. It is in good condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some fine overall crazing, a bit of minor bruising to one foot rim (intact with no losses), a 5/8" edge chip and some staining (mostly on the back). A 19th century Staffordshire china cottage c1850-60s. It is the flat back type, and measures 4 1/4" high and 3 7/16" across. The colouration is simple - yellow ochre and rust-brown. It is overall in excellent condition for its age except for a small chip on the chimney and wear to the painted decoration. The bocage around the roof eaves is in excellent shape (very minor loss, not noticeable) and no cracks, crazing, staining or repairs. Cottages are hard to find, and this is a nice example. A fine looking 19th century Staffordshire figurine of a girl with a basket of fruit riding a goat c1840-60. It measures 7 1/2" high and 5 1/2" at the widest. It is a fully decorated and figured Staffordshire figure, not a flat back style. It is in excellent condition except for one detail - the tip of the girl's foot is chipped. Other than that, it is in exceptional shape - no cracks, crazing or repairs, and the paint in in excellent shape. There is a firing crack on the back of the girl's neck, but it is original to the manufacture of the piece, and does not detract. A fine example. An early English 7-3/4" high large footed comport or tazza made by Wedgwood in 1878-9. This elegant Neoclassic design table serving piece measures 12-3/4" across the two handles and features fine hand painted gilding, a black transfer design (on top and underneath the plate) and relief molding to the handles, edge and foot. It is in the Corinth pattern, which is marked in underglaze black transfer lettering, and it is impressed WEDGWOOD PEARL with GH over P, 1813 pattern number and a triangle mark.
