A lovely mid-Victorian piece of hair jewellery in 10k yellow gold c1860-80. This 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" pendant features a fine hand engraved (unmarked but tested) gold surround with a central concave transluscent moonstone agate, on which is mounted a gold-bordered hair insert. The insert and surround are bolted to the agate with hand-cut bolts, and it retains the original finely braided black hair, bezel and glass window. This item has been converted to a pendant, with a loop attached through a small drilled hole; the hinge for the pin remains and it could easily be converted back to a brooch with the addition of a pin and catch. A 19th century Dutch red glass necklace with a 14k carnelian clasp. This Victorian era 19th century 36-1/4" hand cut red glass bead necklace is complete with a Dutch hallmarked 14k yellow gold clasp. The beads have a rich red garnet colour and the 1/2" diameter box clasp has a natural carnelian stone with an inset gold flourish at the center.
