A cool vintage 10K white gold and synthetic Alexandrite stone ring c1960. This size 5 ring measures 3/8" x 3/8" across the claws, which hold a facetted synthetic Alexandrite stone which changes colour from purple to more of a gray-blue, depending on the ambient lighting. These simulated alexandrites are usually corundum laced with vanadium to produce the color change under different types of lighting, or a treated colourless chrysoberyl. This created gemstone has been around for almost 100 years, and the stones usually test as corundums on a gem tester (natural genuine alexandrites are expensive and uncommon, most of what you will see for sale is the simulated version). This ring weighs 2.6 grams, it is stamped 10K with a circled A maker's mark, and the stone measures approximately 8mm x 8mm x 5mm, or approximately 2.3 carats. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. Yes, there is some grime on the back of the stone - the pictures were taken before cleaning, but it will be cleaned before shipment. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Expedited tracked parcel shipping to the U.S. starts at $21 (other spots may vary, air is higher) - tracking and insurance are included in shipping quotes. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. PLEASE NOTE: we DO NOT accept PayPal, only VISA and MASTERCARD.
