A pair of scarce advertising miniature tin cups given away as premiums in Zig Zag confections at the turn of the century. The first has floral decoration and the D.L. Clarke company logo and name, a box of the Zig Zag confection and the name of the Franz Euler Co. of New York, the manufacturers of the premiums and advertising items used by Clarke to promote their products. Zig Zag was a product similar to Cracker Jack, and these premiums were included in boxes of the product. The other cup depicts the confection box as well as a picture of Clarke's Zig Zag Pepsin gum. Each is lithographed with bright colours and each has interior and bottom gold toning. They are in very good condition with the following condition issues: 1)the first cup has a bent handle, some minor losses to the gold wash, and some moderate scrapes and dings to the decoration, however the graphics are strong and legible 2)the second (gum) cup has an intact handle and it is somewhat less scraped than the other. A fine and vintage period Art Deco sterling silver lorgnette c1920s. It is spring-loaded and the second lens swings out when the button on the side is slid downward. These ocular accessories feature sparkly marcasites and they have a triangular cut faceted synthetic sapphire on each side of the ornate handle. They are stamped 835 and they are either of French or Austrian origin. They weigh 24.6 grams, and they are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All

An Art Deco vintage 2-3/16" across compact with a fine scenic enamel top and a guilloche enamel bottom c1920. This compact features a fine river scene and the bottom is in salmon pink enamel; the interior is gilt and it has the revolving pierced powder dispenser wheel and a mirror in the top. There are no stamps or marks anywhere that we could find. This item is in very good condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a bruise with clear layer loss and cracking on the edge of the enamel as well as a smaller bruise beside it (see images) on the bottom. A fine quality fully hallmarked Art Deco period sterling silver nail buffer with beautiful rose pink guilloche enamel decoration. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham, England 1925-6, this buffer measures 6" x 1-5/8" and it stands 2-3/8" high. The top features a blue plain enamel interior and the enamel covers the top and the bottom's sides. It has the maker's mark for Charles S. Green & Co., it weighs 146 grams, and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a small impact under the bottom's lip (see pic) and a similar small chip on the bottom corner. Please note that there is no filled chamois section for use on the nails. A scarce c1900 lithographed steel tin, advertising Christie's Zephyr Cream Sodas biscuits. This 2-3/4" tin depicts two young girls reading a billboard on one side and it has the company graphics on the other. It says MACDONALD MFG. CO. LIMITED TORONTO on the bottom edge of the graphics. A 19th century antique porcelain souvenir 1-cup teapot depicting the Irvine Bridge, Elora, Ontario, Canada. This 4-3/8" high teapot has embossed decoration and hand painted gold highlights as well as the black transfer picture, and probably dates c1870-90. The town of Elora and the surrounding area, including the Elora Gorge, are long-time tourist attractions. The bridge is a rare example of this type of bridge in Ontario, and this view on the teapot appears to be taken from a photo by either Thomas or John R. Connon, a father and son, both photographers who resided in Elora who took photographed Elora in the 19th century. This view was taken between 1860 and 1890 (reference: Archives of Ontario). The teapot is a nice early example of souvenir ware from that area. This item is in very good condition with no chips, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a touch of wear to the upper rim's gold trim and a tight hairline crack in the lid (visible from the front and back). A scarce and unusual 3-3/4" antique English porcelain souvenir beaker or tumbler from Elora, Ontario, Canada c1900. This travel memento features a black transfer of the Irvine Bridge; the area has long been a tourist destination and it is quite beautiful with the Victorian town and the Elora Gorge on the Grand River the highlights. This beaker has embossed decoration and gold trim; it is stamped with the Myott's mark with the Royal Grafton mark beneath it. An beautifully tailored vintage Art Deco black velvet full length evening coat c1930s. This elegant mid 1930s period coat has a rich claret or intense raspberry red upper lapels and cowl hood interior (it was very difficult to get the red colour correct in photos) and it could be worn with the hood over the head or with the edge rolled back slightly, showing an arc of striking deep red velvet around the face. It is lined in ivory-cream satin with panelled construction and pile-pleated shoulders. The coat has typical 1930s bias panels so the coat has an elegant feminine flare when you are walking. It has an interior pocket, and a satin interior tie belt that can be tied to the additional facing velvet loop to allow for a more fitted waist. Both the velvet and satin are excellent quality. It measures 18" from shoulder to shoulder, 55-1/2" from shoulder to hem and it has a approximately 27" waist. It has no tailor tag, so was a custom tailored piece - it is of high quality workmanship and it is in excellent original condition with no damage, disintegration, flaws, repairs or signs of wear other than a small 1/2" flap tear at the shoulder and some creases (which may be fixable with steaming, but I don't have the equipment or expertise). Please note that the closeup of the tear and collar shows a white crease and white around the tear - this is halogen reflection. There is a little lint showing on the coat also.
