A great quality, stylish and vintage hallway ceiling lamp consisting of the original lacquered brass canopy and housing, holding a free hand painted satin glass shade. The shade opens towards the top and it has fine hand painted black and red vertical asymmetric stripes. This lamp and chain has the original cloth-wrapped wire; it hangs 17-1/2" in total and the shade measures 7" long. It could be as early as the mid 1930s given the shade, quality and wiring - the patina and minor wear on the brass and the dryness of the cloth wiring (which remains intact and useable) certainly points to a ripe old age. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. An attractive and unusual vintage c1920s hanging hall lamp with a round lustre glass shade, made by the Lightolier company. Originally named the New York Gas and Appliance Company, they became Lightolier in 1917. "After Sunset, Lightolier," was a memorable slogan, reflecting the fact that early electric lighting was mostly used at night. The company is still in business, and this lamp is signed both on the shade and on the canopy, which has the original slogan sticker. The glass shade is 9-1/4" diameter and 6-3/4" deep. The socket mount and fittings are gilt brass, with the canopy and spider gold painted at a later date. The decorative decals are intact and the shade has a lustre finish. It has been re-wired, and it works. There is a bit of roughness on the unfinished edges of the shade, and this lamp is in excellent original condition as far as we know of, with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than noted above. A cool, retro Modern pair of German teak, silverplate and bent iron candlesticks c1950s-60s. This pair consists of a three-light and a two-light unit; each has a teak base, a silverplated mounting plate and candle cups and bobeches. The candleholders are mounted on a silverplate-trimmed painted black iron support. They are stickered "Echt Teakholz" and "Made in Germany", they measure 7/8" long and the triple light stands 5-1/8" high. This pair is in excellent original condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than some very minor losses, spots and scrapes to the silverplate and the loss of 5 out of 8 felt pads on the bottom (easily replaced). The candle holders are held with a bold and nut and can be oriented to suit. One of the finest cigarette boxes we've encountered. This is a true vintage Art Deco 12 x 5-1/4" exotic wood veneered large cigarette box with 800 silver Italian mounts. Probably amboyna veneer, this box opens to reveal a four-shelf platform holding 13 cigarettes on each metal-hinged tier. The unsigned box is beautifully constructed and finished, and the fancy silver handle and mounts are a classy touch. The silver scrollwork is marked 800 and the handle also has the Italian silver mark. This item is in near mint original condition with intact finish and veneer, with no chips, cracks, damage or repairs other than 2 missing retaining pins (out of 4) on one silver corner decoration (easily replaced if desired). A fine quality porcelain lamp with gilt metal mounts c1920s. In the Prattware style, this hand painted china lamp is most likely by Noritake, - we were unable to disassemble it for examination to say definitely. It has 3 colour Greek mythology-style portrait medallions and a Greek key band at the neck all on a deep and vibrant orange ground; it measures 12-1/2" from the base to the top of the decorative upper metal collar (excluding the 15-1/4" shaft, socket, harp and finial). It has a replaced socket body and it has been rewired in the past; it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs (other than mentioned above). This is a pair of vintage 1950s painted chalk ware bookends of seated male and female Nubian figures. They stand 9" tall and 6" across the "pillow" they are seated on; each has a fitted glass dish (purpose unknown - candy?) and they are painted in orange, black and gold. They are unsigned, and they are in very good original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a very few small paint flakes on the female and some moderate flakes on the male at the feet and front of the bowl area. A cool and decorative vintage 1920s silver plated figural lamp with original shade. This 10" high lamp (to the top of the socket) has a silver plated figure of a proud pirate mounted on a metal plinth with felt backing; it includes the original 5-3/4" high and 7-1/2" wise celluloid lamp shade. The shade features lithophane-style graphics of a pirate ship on one side, a pirate and ship on the other, and decorative borders on the sides. The images show up when the bulb shines through the celluloid panels, which are held onto the metal frame by leather stitching. This item has been rewired and retains its original hardware; it is in very good original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, or repairs. It has a partial tag from Silverware Products Canada on the bottom, and the shade has a few splits to the leather binding, a loss and cracks to the celluloid on the lower corners of the boat side and on the lower extreme corner of the pirate side. A decorative vintage Art Deco table lamp with glass shade c1930s. This 7-3/4" long and 7-3/4" tall lamp features a chrome plated rearing antelope facing a tulip-shaped pink and white glass shade mounted in a slip-in base with acanthus leaves; It has a toggle switch and it has the original label from the Silverware Products Company of Canada. An English French Ivory velvet and silk-lined 1-5/8" across ring box with brass pushbutton closure c1910.
