A pair of late 18th/early 19th century Chinese cloisonne enamel lobed plant pots. These similar but not identical 7-1/2" x 5-3/4" bowls feature blue grounds and well-executed multi-colour cloisonne designs. They are both footed and unsigned and each has water drain holes in the bottoms. Each bowl has some damage, with incomplete or chipped enamel under the rims, enamel misses and chips and a large loss to the upper rim enamel on one pot. This pair is in fair original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than stated above (see pictures). All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. A colourful and vintage c1950s-60s Native American beaded bolo tie. It is signed "MRS. LIZZIE (illegible)" on the deersking backing, and the glass beads on this 38" long tie (19" when worn) include green, pink, white, red, orange, yellow amber, metallic and various other colours; it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor stretching of the elastic retaining strap on the deerskin back. An attractive antique Japanese 7-1/2" shallow 1-1/4" high bowl in the Imari palette from the 19th century. This lovely export piece has nice enamelled decoration of floral and bamboo panels with a peach in the centre, in gold, orange, green, yellow, light blue and cobalt blue with fine gold diapering. It has a stylized mark and blue decoration on the bottom and outer side, and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs othetr than a very slight bit of gold rubbing in places. An attractive, well painted Japanese 10" x 6-3/4" lacquer over wood box c1900. This box has a richly painted scene of a bird, tree with flowers and leaves and a curved fence with mountains and a lake in the background. The thickly applied colours include textured black (tree), gold, orange and grey. This box has a black interior and the original lock (key missing) with a metal escutcheon plate; it appears to have been used as a cigar box in the past however, it could be used for many things. It is unsigned, and it is in very good condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than bruise showing wood on the lid's lower right corner, some minor lacquer losses at two of the edges and on the upper edge of the lid. Please note that the bright edge on the front of the box in the first picture is reflection of the gold decoration, which is intact. An attractive, high quality hand painted Japanese 15-1/8" x 8" lacquer tray c1920s. This tray features black lacquer over wood with lush gold accents on the edge and both handles; the central scene is of two fighting roosters in orange, brown, silver, gold and red. It is marked MADE IN JAPAN, and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a small loss to the lacquer near the bottom rim and some very slight spots of soiling and rubs. There is a touch of warping to the tray, which sits very slightly elevated at one end. An antique cotton-backed 83" x 19" late Qing period - Xuantong era Chinese embroidered silk on silk satin bed hanging c.1908-12. This beautiful fringed hanging has wonderful embroidery, including gold thread and multi-colour silk thread depicting flowers, butterflies, fish, people and many other symbolic figures and images, with fine short and long stitch embroidery and extraordinarily fine seed stitching. It is mounted on a pinkish cotton backing and it has a fine 7" fringe and edge netting. There are some black silk embroidered characters with the Xuantong era date. It has sewn red loops on the back of the fringe edge for the suspension of some article(s) and the top has a sewn fold for hanging much like a curtain-on-rod. This item is in mostly excellent vintage condition with no tears, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor soiling to the cotton backing and some traces of thumbtacks from previous hangings and slight wear. One of the gold thread sections is pulled for about 1". An uncommon item. A high quality late 18th-early 19th century Chinese Canton enamel bowl on bronze with original gilding c1800. This lobed 7-3/4" x 6-1/4" beauty stands 3-1/8" high; the hand enamelling is particularly fine, done to the Chinese taste, and the rim retains much of its original gilding. The interior is a pale water blue enamel, the bottom is speckled white, and the upper rim has a Greek key design border. This bowl is in superb original condition, with no cracks, scrapes, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a slight touch of wear to the gilding on the edges and some minor discolouration spots to the interior enamel. A large and well made Chinese low grade silver filigree brooch c1900-20. This 3-3/4" x 1-1/2" pin has natural cabochon turquoise and coral stones, and it closes with a safety catch. A vintage Eastern Canada round covered sweetgrass and wood splint basket with colour decoration c1900. This 7-1/2" diameter and 3-1/4" high Mi'kmaq / Micmac or Penobscot basket has a twisted rope-style construction, and it retains bright dyed colours of the bottom and interior, in blue, red and orange. This basket, which was almost surely sold as a sewing basket originally, is in very good original condition with no breaks, cracks, material losses, damage or repairs other than the fading of the colours on the top of the lid. A lovely vintage Cree deerskin and felt satchel or carrying bag with braided deerskin handles and elegant hand done glass bead work c1920s-40. This 17" x 16" bag has 6" high braided deerskin handles and a superb multi-colour hand beaded 14-3/8" x 12" panel on maroon coloured felt. The beading in in a floral style and this cotton-lined unsigned bag is in very good original condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than a small 3/4" x 1/2" area of moth damage and a few thin spots from moths on the felt (see picture) and some minor surface soiling to the deerskin.
