A large and elegant European silver goblet of modern design by Wilhelm Binder of Schwabisch Gmund (Germany), established in 1869. This goblet apparently dates c1900-10. It measures 8-3/4" (24cm) in height, and measures 4-1/4" (just under 11 cm) across the rim. It weighs approximately 227 grams. It is stamped with the German post-1886 crescent moon and crown mark, 835 WTB and has a company number of 73123 and a small punch mark we could not make out. It has not been monogrammed or inscribed, and it is in excellent condition, with no dents, breaks, corrosion, repairs or damage. A simply splendid, high quality English Georgian large footed master open salt dish, fully hallmarked for London 1817. This 3-5/8" diameter and 1-7/8" high bowl has fine high relief and rather unusual rim decoration of a lion head alternating with a shell, surrounded by flowers, with ornate floral feet. It retains the original gilding on the bowl as well. It is stamped with the maker's mark for William Eaton of London and it weighs an impressive 162.6 grams. It has a small lion rampant family crest engraving on one shoulder (not shown). One of the most unusual Georgian silver open salts we have seen. A fine boxed set of six pistol grip hollow handle sterling silver butter spreader knives fully hallmarked for Sheffield England 1917. These 6-5/8" knives have the maker's mark for Harrison Brothers & Howson of Sheffield, and the plush and silk lined fitted box has the retailer's gold stamp for Charles Packer & Co. Ltd. of London. The black textured paper wrapped 8-3/8 x 6-1/4" box has gold highlights and a pushbutton release. A fine matching four piece silver plated tea set on the matching two handled tray c1890s, made by the Toronto Silver Company of Toronto (1882-1914). This set has a satin finish, fine hand engraving and tooling with a high relief design which stands proud from the surface. The teapot is 8" tall with the finial, and it has the matching cream jug, sugar bowl and spoon holder. Each piece has a 475 pattern number except the 16-1/4 x 11-1/4" which is stamped 14 and 1377. A decorative late Victorian period silver plated pickle cruet stand with a cranberry glass thumbprint pattern c1890. The ornate stand is 11-3/4" tall and it has a nice decorative design as does the original silver plated lid; it is stamped with the Standard Silver Co. mark, which was in business in Toronto before 1893 (they later merged with International in 1913). The cranberry glass liner/jar has a thumbprint pattern and it fits snugly in the rim on the base. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some tiny fleabites on the rim of the liner (very slight) and some minor loss to the plating on the stand. A wonderfully ornate hand engraved 3-1/4" tall 800 silver Italian lidded box c1930-35. This hinged box is gilded on the interior and it has a lobed design with ornate engraving. It could possibly be for cigarettes, and it is stamped 800 MILANO and A. RONCHI on the bottom. The jewellery firm August Ronchi opened in Milan, Italy in 1929 - this firm sells mostly high end jewellery and watches, but has also produced lovely quality silver items in the past.
