A true rarity of vintage American pressed or pattern glass. This is the 5-1/4" long and 4-5/8" wide wall pocket in the Elephant or Jumbo pattern in amber glass, issued by the King Glass Co. in 1890. Variously described as a match holder, match striker, wall pocket or vase, this item has vivid and crisp detail. It is 2-3/4" deep and is guaranteed to be antique glass. This item is in fair original condition with no chips, losses, damage or repairs other than a large internal crack below the eye and above the tusks. This crack is visible from the front and around the back and it appears to be a dividing line between the light upper glass and the deeper amber hue of the glass in the trunk. It can't be felt from the front but can be felt with a fingernail on the interior - the integrity of the piece is intact. Please note the straw mark just below the eye in the last picture (it's not a crack); this item's book value is $750 + in intact condition. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. A rare and early English Georgian period 2-1/4" x 1-1/4" tri-colour jasper ware Wedgwood miniature plaque mounted in a (later) sterling silver pin. The jasper cameo dates to c1780-1800, and this beautiful jasper cameo miniature has a very light blue, white and royal blue edge classical scene of a sacrifice to the gods of classic mythology. This exact cameo appears in the top of a patch box in the 1953 Wedgwood book by Wolf Mankowitz, c1785 (plate 97). These miniature Wedgwood jaspers were often mounted in the cut steel jewellery popular in the Georgian period, or were sometimes set into the top of boxes, but were also sold unmounted. The mounting for this pin is sterling silver, with a modern period wheel catch, so it would have been set in the sterling setting at a later date. It is impressed WEDGWOOD with a small cross mark, a deep and not perfectly evenly lettered mark as should be expected in a piece of this age. The pin is stamped STERLING and it has a safety catch. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Tracked insured shipping to the U.S. starts at $28 (other spots may vary). Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. A fine looking 19th century Staffordshire figurine of a girl with a basket of fruit riding a goat c1840-60. It measures 7 1/2" high and 5 1/2" at the widest. It is a fully decorated and figured Staffordshire figure, not a flat back style. It is in excellent condition except for one detail - the tip of the girl's foot is chipped. Other than that, it is in exceptional shape - no cracks, crazing or repairs, and the paint in in excellent shape. There is a firing crack on the back of the girl's neck, but it is original to the manufacture of the piece, and does not detract. A fine example. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
