This authentic piece of 1960s clothing consists of dyed suede panels in an orange/red colour held together with threaded flat fringe. It is trimmed with carved and plain wood beads on more fringe, and a few of them are capped with authentic bird feathers. The waist size is approximately 26" and the length is a maximum of 40". This dress is in very good condition with no staining, losses, repairs or damage other than some minor fading and scraping on one panel, a 1" tear on one panel near the edge (visible in picture) and some minor molting of a feather or two. An attractive, framed needlepoint floral picture in a Victorian Eastlake period design frame. The 9-1/2" x 7-1/2" (glass size) wool needlepoint is in pinks, mauve, and greens and greys. The 15" x 13" Eastlake period frame features cut-to-wood decorative carving, a black Japanned finish and faux woodgrain with stencilled gold trim and highlights, and dates to c1870s.
