A scarce World War I era 60" patinated metal and purple cut glass fan or watch chain circa 1915. Unsigned but possibly English, it was common for jewelry at this time to be blackened or patinated so as to avoid flashing and glinting, which could have been seen by the enemy fliers at night. World War I planes were smaller and flew lower, so moonlight reflecting on jewelry allowed people to be seen. The patination made it possible to wear jewelry that was not visible at night, so this style of jewelry became popular until 1918. This watchchain necklace has a large spring-ring catch and swivel, and the chain has oblong loops. This item is in mostly excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor abrasions to the back edges of the unfoiled amethyst glass stones. A Waltham hunter case GF size 6 pocket watch dated 1903. This very nice looking gold filled 1-5/8" pocket watch has a 1-1/4" movement. It was made in 1903 by the American Waltham Watch Company, it appears to be a size 6 Model 1890 (11 jewels) and the hunter case is attractively engraved. It has the same design on both sides and it has a script monogram on one side. The case is a Waltham Cashier 25 year hunter and the movement has the serial number 12285339. This watch runs and keeps time however we haven't had it cleaned and it is being sold as found without warranty. We recommend all timepieces be professionally cleaned and adjusted. This watch is in very good condition with no chips, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some tight hairline cracks to the porcelain single-sunk face, a dent on the dust cover and some scratches to the interior of the rear cover. The back cover, dust cover and lip have some minor pry marks. A Victorian ornate silver and gold plated watch chain circa 1870s. This antique ornate 13-5/8" watchchain is 7/16" wide and it consists of six nickel plated base metal oblong links with fine engraving. Each link is attached by thick loops. Every alternating link has gold plated engraved inserts held with three thin metal bands. It has a swivel and it is unsigned and unmarked. This handsome gentleman's pocket watch accessory is in good condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the loss of the the loops on one link and loss of some of the plating. A Victorian gold filled seed pearls photo locket with a long watch chain necklace from the 1890s. This attractive oval 1-5/8 x 3/4" (including bale) locket retains the two photo retaining bezels and it has two instant relatives included. The back is undecorated and the front has a lovely X-style design with graduated seed pearls. It has a satin finish and it comes with a slightly later J.Co. 1906 15 YRS gold filled chain with a swivel. "15 YRS." refers to the guarantee on the chain's gold plating to last for 15 years under normal use (similar to that used on watch cases). The chain itself measures 48-1/2" long (sans swivel) and it can be worn doubled as shown or full length (it will hang 24-1/4" long). A Vict. gf watch chain with a 12k banded agate fob. This gold plated late Victorian period 16-1/8" watch chain has a 12K gold and agate fob and it dates to the 1890s. It has a swivel and spring-ring, with a suspended t-bar on a 1-3/4" chain. It has a barrel shaped 1" x 7/16" genuine banded agate fob mounted with 12k yellow gold ends (unmarked but tested). This octagonal facetted stone fob is mounted on two 7/8" gold filled chains and is attached to the main chain by a 7/8" link drop. This chain is finer an more delicate than the usual, and would make a great necklace. A Victorian brass & glass fob with a Lord Kitchener medallion. This 5-1/4 x 1" brass and cut French Jet (black glass) watch fob has a swivel and it is complete with a later commemorative oval 1-3/4" x 1-1/4" pressed steel medallion depicting Lord Kitchener. The medal has a high relief portrait of Kitchener (1850-1916) with the legends FEARLESS NOBLE BRAVE AND TRUE and BRITAIN'S NOBLE SON. The fob and medallion are both in very good condition with some chips to the glass inserts, some minor denting and a patina of wear to the chain, and some loss and weathering to the plating on the steel medal. A Swiss sterling silver engraved hunter case pocket watch with a chain with a Routier Quebec retailer signature. This size 13 ligne or size 0 watch has fancy tooling on its full hunter sterling silver case which has an MQ '04 monogram on one side. The front and back cases and dust cover all have Swiss 935 sterling silver marks including the bear mark and the works resemble a barred Swiss movement from around the 1900 era. The porcelain dial with a single sunk second hand dial is signed A.C. ROUTIER QUEBEC (Quebec City, the retailer). This watch comes with an unmarked but tested sterling silver 24" double strand herringbone chain with a swivel. The crown is brass and this watch appears to be overwound and is not working. Also, the crystal and hour hand are missing however the face is in excellent condition as is the case. it is being sold as is without a guarantee. A lovely lady's Ryrie (later Birks) hanging watch in 9k rose gold c1910. This 1-1/8" diameter watch features a single sunk seconds dial, blued hands and black Roman numerals and a large hinged rectangular loop for hanging. The face is marked RYRIE, and the case is stamped with London, England import gold marks with a 109926 serial number. The 15/16" (24 mm.) diameter works are stamped 3326279 RYRIE VERNON 15 JEWELS; Vernon was Ryrie's quality gold watch line and they used Waltham works according to archive catalogues. This watch is suspended from a 10k yellow gold pin featuring the three loop Rebekah lodge symbol. The pin has a safety catch, and this pin and watch measures 2-1/4 x 1-1/4" in total. An impressive Regency period 15k gold long necklace with ornate slide c1830-40. This superb example measures 62" long, it has a large well-made slide with black enamel, and it is constructed of double pulley-style interlinked gold loops. The 1" across and 1/4" thick slide has an engraved L. Gordon inscription on one side; it is unmarked and unsigned but tests as 15k gold. The slide has holes where a scarab or possibly a cameo was mounted (and another piece of your choice could be mounted on it), and it weighs an impressive 59.0 grams (almost 2 ounces!). An M.J. Tobias Liverpool 18k & sterling engraved face Swiss pocket watch from the 1890s. This 14 size or 18 ligne watch is 1-7/8" across and it has a typical unmarked Swiss bar movement, a fancy engraved 18k yellow gold back cover with Swiss gold markings, a dust cover marked M.J. TOBIAS LIVERPOOL HANDS DETACHED LEVER FULL JEWELLED, and a very fancy engine turned and engraved sterling silver face with a village scene under a silver rimmed open face cover with a glass crystal. It has subtle gilded highlights, a single sunk second hand dial, blued hands and applied silver Roman numbers. Tobias started in Liverpool in 1805 and his family later expanded the watch business and started to export Swiss-sourced watches with varying cases and faces to the U.S. This face is one of a small variety of engraved faces we've seen - other configurations and cases were also made. A JG Graves Sheffield sterling silver swing-out key pocket watch 1902. This English sterling silver key wind cased pocket watch is by JG Graves of Sheffield, England. Graves (1866-1945) was a watchmaker, entepreneur and benefactor, and this watch is hallmarked for Chester 1902, with the swing-out case having the Graves maker's mark. The watch is 2" across and the works measure 1-9/16" across the plate. They are inscribed J.G. GRAVES SHEFFIELD REVERSING PINION No688375. The single sunk dial has gold toned hands and it has THE "EXPRESS" ENGLISH LEVER in red and a black script G.S. GRAVES SHEFFIELD (indicating a late issue). It has an engine turned and engraved design on the back of the case and the back dust cover is unmarked. It is key wind and adjustment is by a nut at the pivot of the hands on the dial. This watch includes a later plastic base and dome cover, and it is in good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs - the case, porcelain dial and works all appear intact, clean and undamaged however this watch doesn't run and the crystal has some minor abrasions. A Girard Perregaux 14K white gold lady's diamond manual wind wristwatch. This elegant Art Deco vintage wrist watch measures 15/16" x 1/2", and it has a a fine braided black leather strap and a full wrist size chain link guard safety chain; the case is set with two large 3 mm. across bezel set diamonds on the top of the strap loop and bottom, with 26 round cut genuine diamonds around the bezel (approximately .65 carat total weight by gauge). The inside of the case is marked J MILHENNING INC. M 14K 145594; the works are marked GIRARD-PERREGAUX & Co. GXM SWISS UNADJUSTED 52 432917 SEVENTEEN JEWELS and it has gold gears. We believe it dates to the 1930s, but it may be slightly more recent. This watch has just been overhauled by a professional watchmaker a few years ago and appears to be in excellent running order, although we are not watchmakers so cannot guarantee it.
