A fine 19th century example of Japanese bronze work in the form of a huge high relief decorated plant pot. This impressive decorative item stands 13-1/2" high and it measures 11-1/2" across the open mouth. The patina is dark and rich (and somewhat lightened in our photographs to show detail), and it features perching and flying birds and floral branches, a decorated collar and incised decoration. It has an applied signature planchet on the bottom, it weighs 19.6 pounds, and it has some patina inside from use. It is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs except for a minor bend on the footrim. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
