A lovely late Victorian / early Edwardian period 14k yellow gold ring set with two natural round cabochon opals flanking four old cut genuine diamonds on each side of a central synthetic ruby c1900. This size 7 ring has opals with fine green and blue fire and a fiery orange internal colour. The genuine diamonds are approximately 2 - 2.5 points each and the central synthetic ruby is 4 mm. across.
It measures 5/8" x 3/16" across the setting, the ring is unmarked due to a probable rehooping in the past. It tests as 14k gold, ) and it weighs 3.1 grams. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some slight dulling to the surface of the opals from wear commensurate with their age.
