|A finely cut signed Elite (Clapperton) brilliant cut crystal American Brilliant period 8" diameter fruit bowl c1900-05. G.H Clapperton went to work for Gowans and Kent of Toronto in 1899-1900, producing the first recognized Canadian brilliant cut glass on high quality blanks. (He left the firm in 1905 to go out on his own, and Gundy-Clapperton also produced high quality brilliant cut glass). This bowl features fine deep cutting with hobstars and trillium flowers and cross cutting - we have not been able to identify the pattern. It is a fine quality blank bowl, measuring just a bit over 3/8" thick at the rim. It has the Elite maple leaf round acid stamp mark in the center of the bowl. This item is in excellent original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a 1/8" edge chip on one of the decorative rays (see image). All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $18 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. NOTE: we DO NOT accept PayPal.|
