A matching pair of early to mid 19th century 2-3/4" tall Gaudy Welsh chinoiserie ceramic canns or small mugs c1820-50. These early mugs feature copper luster and hand painted designs over pink transfer in blue, green, yellow and brown. Although known as Gaudy Welsh, only a small percentage of these attractive pieces were produced in Wales, - a higher amount was produced in Staffordshire. They are typically e unmarked and they are in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a tiny 1/32" paint fleck on one rust painted panel, and some wear to the rim lustre. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have signs of gentle use.
