An early to mid 19th century English hand painted over blue transfer ware cup and saucer c1850. This 2-1/4" tall cup and matching 5-7/8" saucer has been decorated in the popular 19thC Imari colours. It has an orange painted pattern number of 245 1/2 on the bottom of the cup, and an early ironstone type body, and it has a cobalt blue, orange, yellow and light orange lustre colour palette in the form of flowers and branches with a garden wall - it looks a bit like Ridgway in shape (and Ridgway often only had an orange painted pattern number on their items) or Mason's, but is not marked with a manufacturer's mark, unfortunately, as sometimes happened. It is in very good condition for its age with no cracks, losses, repairs or damage; it has some allover crazing with some light staining to the craze lines on the center of the saucer and three small glaze scrapes two on the saucer and one on the cup. An attractive early piece of English ceramics. Small packet surface shipping starts at $9 (to the US - other spots may vary, air is higher) - insurance to $100 is included. Expresspost-air post and Fedex are available for faster shipping options - please email with your zip code or postal code for the rates. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT accept Paypal.

A scarce serving platter sized pierced drainer in the English ironstone transferware pattern Khyber Hawthorn, issued c1875-80 by Podmore & Walker / Wedgwood & Co. This 13" x 9-3/8" drainer features a great blue/black transfer of flowers, and it has the retailer's mark (James Green & Nephew, London). This rare item is in excellent condition, with no cracks, crazing, staining, repairs or damage other than a small chip with staining on the bottom edge (very old chip). A fine addition to any ironstone or transferware collection! Surface shipping begins at $18 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US.

A very unusual early ironstone covered handled dish with scenes of girls playing with dogs, playing a flute and riding horses c1860. This dish measures 7-1/4" across the handles and it stands 3-3/4" tall and it must have been part of a nice quality child's nursery set. This covered tureen has white ironstone lid with applied high relief figures in the soft blue colour of Chelsea Sprig ironstone from this era. I would imagine it was used for hot cereal or porridge. It has a Greek key embossed border on the lid, an acanthus style border on the base and lines and scrolls on the foot. It is unmarked and it is in remarkably excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, staining, repairs or damage. There is a burst glaze bubble on the underside of the lid, which isn't visible when displayed, and this is original to the manufacture of the piece, and is not damage, but we like to mention all details (see picture). A great and unusual addition to any collection of antique children's dishes, and a very attractive piece. Surface shipping starts at $12 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US.
