A 1930s Mexican sterling three butterfly swag or sweater brooch. This unusual vintage Mexican sterling pin is in the form of three chain-linked butterflies with glass turquoise cabochons and dates to the 1930s. This pin has three different sized butterflies (all with their own pins on back), with the largest 1-7/8" across and the smallest 1-3/8". Each segment has a safety catch pin and each is stamped MEXICO STERLING. This 2-7/8" x 2-1/4" hand made buckle weighs 1.25 ounces, and it has an AT over 64 maker's mark, the lion passant silver purity mark, Minerva head mark, and the letter mark for 1864. A scarce and unusual Victorian sterling silver and gold Mizpah bracelet c1870-90 (they are sometimes also referred to as Luckenbooth bracelets). This unmarked piece of sentimental Victorian jewellery features a spring-style bangle configuration mounted with the attached hearts under a bow, with yellow gold engraved flowers and rose gold leaves on textured silver tendrils. This unusual Victorian period bracelet measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/4" across the interior and 5/8" across the heart and ribbon. There is a retaining pin at the bottom of one heart to lock the bangle closed in place, it weighs 9.5 grams, and this item is in very good condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than two dents on one heart and on one edge of the bracelet and a bit of flattening near the bottom. A lovely early 19th century sterling silver & paste belt buckle. This 2-7/8" x 1-3/8" buckle features antique hand cut clear paste stones, and the central pinion hinged section swings either way, with three teeth to hold the belt opening and the section that holds the belt end has three shallower teeth to secure the other end of the belt. They are both secured to the centre of the belt but are made so each moves independently of the other. It is a substantial and very well constructed piece, and still retains traces of its original gilding on the back of the buckle. It is not marked, which was fairly common, but has been tested & is guaranteed to be sterling grade silver. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage. A few of the paste stones have very minute surface edge abrasions, as may be expected, but none are serious or detract from the appearance of the buckle, and generally require a loupe to see, but without the loupe it appears in astonishingly great condition. A lovely Arts and Crafts period 830 silver high relief rose Skønvirke brooch circa 1900. This antique 2-1/8" x 1-5/8" pin has a long c-clasp and it is marked simply 830. It is quite likely this piece is Scandinavian, it is entirely consistent with early Skønvirke ("beautiful work") made popular by fine Scandinavian silver makers. It greatly resembles early Bernard Hertz work, but is not signed, other than the 830 silver mark. It is typically repousse with a solid flat back, for stability, and it weighs 15.6 grams. The pendant is stamped HB STE and it has a teardrop shaped black celluloid stone topped with a silve leaf with marquisites. The chain ends in a springring catch which joins with the pendant's loop; it is stamped ECCO STERLING on the loop. An Art Deco Danecraft deer in the woods sterling pin from the 1930s-1940s. This great vintage sterling silver 2-1/8" x 1-3/4" brooch depicts a deer feeding in the forest. This pin features a safety catch, a true Deco style, and it is stamped STERLING with an HB maker's mark, and a somewhat scratched out Danecraft mark can be seen. Not sure how long this mark was used, but we have seen this combination on a few older Danecraft pieces. Possibly Danecraft purchased some older stock from another manufacturer when it was first starting up?? Country of origin is almost certainly Germany, and this 17-1/4" bracelet is 1/4" wide; the clear white round paste stones sparkle beautifully. The twin rows are channel-set and have pins linking each segment, beautifully made and finished. The high quality of this piece is shown in the hidden snap-in clasp, and it has an overstamped and therefore unfortunately obscured maker's or patent mark (probably DRGM, for the German patent protection mark).
