An attractive and large 3-5/8" sterling silver pancake makeup compact with mirror fully hallmarked for Birmingham, England 1932-3. This compact has an engine turned design on both sides with a monogram area on one side (never monogrammed); it has an S.B.& S.Ld. maker's mark, it has a retaining ring for the powder and it weighs 110 grams. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a shallow, barely noticeable dent on the monogram area. All

A vintage Victorian late 19th century genuine mother of pearl change purse. This 2-7/8" x 2" purse (closed) has a red linen cloth lined compartmented interior and nickel plating. The shell is attached to the cloth, accordion style, to allow a little extension of the purse. It is typically unsigned and is guaranteed to be a genuine late Victorian period change purse. It is in very good original condition with no chips, cracks, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, losses, damage or repairs other than some very slight surface corrosion spots on the original nickel plating. The linen interior has some upper edge separation at the centre of the separate compartments and two minor tears at the interior folds, but it remains functional and intact. A superb late Victorian period tortoiseshell celluloid hair backcomb with an opulent paste laden wings set into a rolled gold plated setting c1890. This lovely hair accessory measures 5-1/8" x 2-3/4", and the white paste claw-set stones are mounted on a gold plated wing shaped back plate. The paste stones are all claw set and mounted into a twist wirework superstructure. The backing plate is a rolled rose gold sheet pin mounted into the comb. It is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some minute tarnish/corrosion spots near the edge of the plate (not particularly noticeable). A wonderfully styled vintage Art Deco pocket comb in green celluloid with a designed sleeve. This 4-1/2 x 1-1/8" comb is in a green celluloid, which has mellowed to an olive and light butterscotch brown colour. The comb has a checkerboard decoration with cream white squares on a green and copper metallic ground; the cover has black paint, subtle hand carving and gold highlights. Both pieces are unsigned, however we aren't sure if they started life together or not, although they fit together well (the decoration is different on each piece). This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than the mellowing of the once bright green colour.
