A vintage 1940s-50s Guinness beer advertising standup sign. This 12-1/8 x 6-1/8" sign has orange, yellow and black on screened and coated cardboard which is wrapped around steel. It bears the Gaelic legend "DO NA H-UILE" which roughly translates to "Open to all". It is signed 565 SANDERS PHILLIPS & CO., LONDON, S.W.9 on the back; it has a folding support leg on the back. This item is in excellent original condition with no cracks, crazing, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a few spots and some slight abrasions to the plastic coating, a 1/16" hole through to the steel plate on the lower right corner, some minor surface corrosion to the steel on the back and a layer separation to the lower part of the cardboard stand, which has some later masking tape reinforcement. This tape can be removed and the cardboard can easily be reglued. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $8 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. A funky addition to your 1950s retro table. This is a set of dyed straw glass liners in their original black wire carrying tray. The liners each have a silk MADE IN ITALY sewn-on tag, and they are in pairs, in purple, orange, gold and bronze colours (each 2-3/4" across and 2-3/4" deep). The 16 x 8-1/2" carrying tray has plastic-cord wrapped handles, and this set is in excellent original condition with no scrapes, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a split on one plastic handle wrap.
