A 10k yellow gold man's synthetic blue sapphire ring from the 1950s. This vintage size 9-3/4 or 9.75 ring measures 9/16" x 5/8" along the setting. The square blue stone is bezel-set and open backed and the superb electric blue colour is always evident and shows nice light play from the rear facets (see pics). This classic modernist ring is stamped 10 K with an A+A maker's mark and it weighs a substantial 7.9 grams. Synthetic sapphires are more commonly known kn now as man made or lab created sapphires. They are made from actual colourless sapphires. The interesting effect in the stone was caused by light refraction and the band reflected in the lamp when being photographed - it is not normally present. It is in very good to excellent condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a fine patina and tiny dents from wear. This twist style 12" long open link antique watch chain is 1/4" wide and it has a loop drop from the t-bar (which kept the chain in place by being anchored through the vest buttonhole) for suspension of another decorative accessory, either a gentleman's pocket watch or fob or watch key. It would also make an interesting bracelet or necklace. There is a loop marked rolled gold with the maker's mark for Kollmar and Jourdan , a Pforzheim Germany manufacturer founded in 1885. It has a BULOVA name impressed into the front of the case (we're not sure if it has a metal nameplate or if it was impressed as it appears). A Cunard Queen Elizabeth I ship tie clip 1930s. This gilt brass and celluloid 2-3/4" tie clip dates to 1938-40 and it depicts the Cunard steamship liner Queen Elizabeth I. Launched in 1938, the QEI was retrofitted for the war effort in 1940, and relaunched in 1946. She was taken out of service as a luxury liner in 1968. This clip features a 5/8" x 1/2" celluloid view of the ship, with Queen Elizabeth written below the ship, and it is in excellent original condition with no cracks, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs; there is a slight patina of fine scratches visible (when looked at under a 10X loupe) on the celluloid, but these are not otherwise visible or noticeable. An Ellis sterling silver butterfly wing tie bar circa 1910 - 1920 in a vintage case. This Edwardian vintage 2-3/4" x 5/8" tiebar has a central butterfly wing decoration under glass. It is stamped ENGLAND on the back and it tests as sterling silver. It comes in a period satin and velvet fitted Ellis Bros. box from Toronto (later bought out by Birks). The brown gold-stamped box has one scrape on the top, and this man's fashion accessory weighs 5.3 grams. An EYMC sterling silver music award fob 1927 with a ribbon pin brooch. This vintage 1927 sterling silver award watch fob pendant is on the original red, white and blue silk ribbon pin. This 1-3/8" x 1-1/8" singing music award has high relief music symbols on the front and the engraved dedication on the back; it says E.Y.M.C. 1927 SOPRANO SOLO 1ST PRIZE WON BY PAULINE NICHOLLS. E.Y.M.C. may represent an award presented at the former East York High School (now East York Collegiate institute) of Toronto. This school opened in 1927. It has the maker's mark BAILEY RD. 26 STERLING, the pin is a brass safety pin, and it weighs 10.5 grams.
