A pair of quality enamel souvenir pins c1920s, depicting a finely enamelled scene of Sturgeon Lake and the Collegiate Institute, Lindsay, Ontario, Canada. The flag pin measures 1-1/8 x 1" and the Institute measures 1-1/4 x 1-1/8"; each is on brass and the lake scene is marked CZECHOSLOVALIA. Both have a c-clasp, and they are in very good original condition with no crazing, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a tiny loss and a surface crack on the lower left of the lake scene and a 1/4" long enamel loss to the other. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. A nicely designed Edwardian silver Baisse Taille enamel octagonal pin c1910-15. This 1" pin has a deep purple border and a central columnar section with lovely opalescent enamel. In the center is a seed pearl, and this pin has the original c-clasp and the 935 sterling mark (probably France or Austria). Each figure is free-swinging and it has a banner in white enamel saying HOLLAND. It measures 1-1/2" x 1", it has a c-clasp, and the enamels include white, blue, red, gold and silver. A sterling silver enamel military sweetheart brooch pin 1900-1920. This large, lavish Art Nouveau design 2-1/2" x 1-7/16" pin features subtle and lovely lavender enamel flowers and borders, and it is on a textured sterling ground. There is a soldered shield with a central maple leaf applied to the pin, and it has blackened borders around the details - I believe it is a World War One or a Boer War period sweetheart or wives brooch. It closes with a c-clasp, and it is stamped STERLING with the DJ and Castle maker's mark. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, corrosion, repairs or damage. There is a spot on the upper part of the brooch where the enamel looks unfinished, but it is only that there is a bit too much silver there (original to the manufacture of the piece). An unusual unmarked (but tested) Egyptian sterling salt spoon with a dhow and palm tree niello enamel scene on the handle. Niello is a process where black enamel is applied and fired onto a hollowed out scene. This 2-1/2" spoon is in excellent original condition with no scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a small spot of surface tarnish in the bowl which can be easily buffed or polished out.
