| An early 20thcentury Chinese gilded sterling filigree perfume pendant on chain with a large natural carnelian cabochon stone c1900-20. This 1-5/16" x 1" pendant opens to reveal a compartment which held pergfumed wax or oil - the heat from the wearer's body would gradually release the scent. It is stamped SILVER. The 15-3/4" box chain is stamped PAT APPD FOR on the barrel clasp and it tests as silver. The clasp is engraved and it is contemporary or possibly slightly older than the pendant. This necklace weighs 19.1 grams, and it is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
