An Art Deco period 14k white gold filigree ring with the original rectangular cut synthetic ruby stone circa 1920s. Fine rubies were could be difficult to buy at times and good quality synthetic gems (called lab created rubies now, they were made from genuine stones) were commonly used. As they were usually made from white topaz or sapphires, they have excellent sparkle and durabilty, and usually stand up to wear as well as the real stones. This vintage size 4-1/2 or 4.5 ring weighs 3.3 grams and It is stamped 14 K. Great gift for someone born in July, or just someone who likes beautiful white gold filigree settings.
It measures 5/8" x 7/16" across the setting and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than slight signs of wear to stone. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have signs of gentle use or wear as would be expected. Silver and silver plated items are hand-polished, not buffed, and our halogens and magnified images may exaggerate otherwise barely noticeable scratches and flaws.
