| A ebony brush and mirror set in their original silk lined box c1890-1900. This set consists of the following: the small 9" natural bristled brush with a silver plated or aluminum unmonogrammed mount, the 9-5/8" bevelled mirror with silverplated or aluminum mount, and the original 10-3/4" x 3-3/4" and 2-1/8" high black paper-wrapped box with silverplated latch and retaining mounts with a green fitted silk liner. This unsigned set is unusually made of solid hand tooled ebony. This set is in very good condition, with the following notes on condition: the box has some corner and edge rubbing, and the silk has faded at the brush mount, the wood block mount for the mirror on the lid is loose, and there is a slot for a (now missing) comb; it also has a"old" odour - not quite musty, but possibly it hasn't been opened in a while, and could use airing out and the mirror has a bit of the expected oxidation on the silvering (small).
