| Superb vintage gilt brass and enamel pin c1930s (possibly earlier) depicting a sailor in a cobalt blue large collar shirt and white bell bottom trousers with a sailor's had leaning on a black enamelled support (a binnacle?). In the shape of a life preserver, this British pin is marked STRATTON BIRMINGHAM COPYRIGHT. The colours consist of a bright turquoise blue life preserver, cobalt shirt, white pants, black binnacle, flesh pink face and pink gold washed "ropes" around the circular hoop of the life preserver. The picture looks a bit faded out and doesn't show the vivid and detailed pin to its best advantage - the colours are brilliant and the enamelling is excellent; the turquoise is consistent and bright throughout the life preserver hoop. This 1-7/8" across pin closes with a c-clasp and is in excellent condition, with no cracks, wear, repairs or damage other than a tiny flake on the enamel on the lower right of the hoop, but this is barely visible. Surface shipping is $6 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in US$. | ||
