This is a Pre-Columbian NARINO Polychrome Female Figure from Ecuador, 800 - 1500 A.D. It measures about 3 3/4" X 3" X 6 1/2" ( 9.6 cm X 7.7 cm X 16.6 cm ). The Nariños were descendants of the Incas and spoke Quechua. The Nariños were also known as the Capuli Culture and developed between the borders of Colombia and Ecuador. They buried their caciques in tombs at depths of 30 to 40 meters. The Nariños traded with people of the Amazon Basin and the Pacific Shores.
