This is a nice early hand colored map of South America from Carey's 1814 atlas of the world.It is done in outline color and was originally folded. This is in great cond.with only a couple of small spots and a few nos. written in the ocean on the upper right top side. It is 22 by 17 and is matted ready for framing. Nicer than the photo shows.

This is a original 1876 chromolithograph of Archibald Willards painting Yankee Doodle or the Spirit of 76.Painted in 1875 to be displayed at the Centennial in Philadelphia the chromo was published by J.E.Ryder of Cleveland Ohio to be sold at the fair. It was printed by Clay and Cossack of Buffalo New York. This chromo is in very good condition with no scrape or damages to the surface of the print. It does have some fading or toning being 135 years old.It is laid down on a backer board...

This is a great large 11 1/2 by 25 sight size original gouache illustration by Bill Griffith for the September 1954 issue of Sports Afield magazine.It is titled Life In a Moose Pasture. Griffith did quite a few covers and illustrations for Sports Afield in the 1950's. This is framed in a simple black frame with thin gold stripes and is 18 by 31 inches total size.

This is a nice pencil signed limited edition lithograph titled Swamp Land by Henry Pitz. It was issued by the Associated American Artists.Their print issues were usually done in editions of 250.The print is in excellent condition and comes with the original label. This is a original albumen photo by Isaiah West Taber 1830-1912.It is still in its original quarter sawn oak frame and has the original glass.The image is 9 1/2 by 8 the mount is 15 by 13 and the frame is 3/4 inches wide.The print is in ex condition and is sharp and clear.There is a small water stain on the top right of the mount that goes in about 3/4 of an inch and one about 1/8 on part of the bottom edge. This is a nice large 18 by 24 sight size oil on canvas by Paul Flegel a listed artist.It seems to be in its original frame which is 26 by 32.The painting is in great original condition. The carved wood 60's frame has a few chips in the thin gesso top coat.Flegel was known for his style of painting on the open canvas with a palette knife which is quite evident in this picture.From the few pictures of his we could find on line this seems to be a much better than normal example of his work...

This is a great Grand Tour bronze statue titled the Runner.The Greek originals were found in the Roman ruins of Herculaneum.This was produced during the latter part of the 1800's by the Fonderia Aristica Sabatino de Angelis & Fils Napoli Italy.They and Fonderia Chiurazzi were the 2 best of many foundries in Naples at the time.He stands 18 3/4 inches tall and the base is 10 1/2 by 4 3/4 inches.The bronze is in fantastic condition for its age with a nice deep brown patina...

Thetis and Jupiter were the parents of Achilles.She is 15 inches tall and has the correct seal in the back G&S Medaille d'or 1867 as shown in volume 4 of Berman's bronze books. This is a scarce large format 26 by 20 chromolithograph done in 1885 by the L. Prang co. Boston. It is titled Grant from West Point to Appomattox.There are 2 creases about 6 inches long, one going across Grants forehead and one in the bottom center picture.Other than that this print is in fine shape with no stains or soiling. I do not think it was ever framed. A striking and scarce large print of U.S. Grant by the best print maker of the time.
