| This is a rare original stipple and line engraving by John Sartain titled General Marion in his Swamp Encampment inviting a British Officer to dinner.This was done in 1840 for the Apollo Association the first art promotion group in the United States.This large 17 by 20 image + large margins print is in very good condition for its age. The paper is evenly lightly toned through out. The only damage is a small push thru the paper by the slaves right arm about 1/4 inch.A rare and desirable print getting hard to find without the addition of modern color. | ||
