Reading The Emancipation Proclamation Engraving 1864

This is dramatic original 1864 engraving of the reading of the Emancipation Proclamation was published by Lucius Stebbins. After a painting by H. Herrick and engraved by J.W. Watts. The image is 13 by 17 1/2 + large margins. The engraving is in very clean condition with a couple of minor paper flaws. There is a small paper wrinkle on the back of the head of the boy holding the torch and a wrinkle and part tear along side Lincolns head at the bottom edge of the print. This is quite a scarce engraving and the few others I could find pictures of were in worse condition than our example.
