| This is a fine quality Grand Tour bronze of Narcissus done after the antique found in Pompeii in 1862.This one is signed G.Nisini Roma.They were one of the best foundries in Rome.He has a great antique green brown type patina to look as if he had just come out of the ground.This was a popular casting before and around the turn of the century. I found a couple of others listed on the web for more that are not signed and do not have the great patina this bronze has.This bronze has sold at auction for as high as $3700.00.If you like classical or Grand Tour Items this is as nice as it gets.Fresh from a Rhode Island estate. Height is 24 inches. | ||
