This is a original lifetime bronze statue of a Pheasant by the very well listed French artist Paul Comolera 1818-1897. His specialty was birds. This 21 inch tall figure has incredible detail and is done in several different patina's.It is all in wonderful original condition. Probably cast at the Susse Freres foundry in Paris. It has the original ink written markings on the underside.Comolera was a pupil of Francois Rude. He exhibited at the Salon for 50 years. We found several versions of this bronze online with other patina variations that seemed more gaudy and not as old.We would date ours as 1860-1880 vintage.
