|Old, stone-carved trumpet with a realistically carved crocodile's head and embedded nassa shells set into clay around the middle of the object. Evidence of a shinier, darker surface at one time, but now shows a dry patina. Measures 25.50"L x 3.50"W. Early 20TH Century. Losses to the shell encrustation and showing softened features and weathered surface. PROVENANCE: AASE B. AND C. FREDERICK THOMPSON FOUNDATION, 1980'S.|
