| MID-20TH Century Oil on Board of North shore Gloucester in Massachusetts. This is one of three Paintings that we are listing on our web site. All three of these paintings were purchased out of a Philadelphia Estate. All three of these paintings were painted by Captain Bayard Fish Foulke. This painting measures 14" X 10". It is a Oil on Panel with total frame measuring 16 1/4" X 12 1/4". A very well known painter of famous clipper ships who had a life long fascination with the sea. Born at Oyster Bay, Long Island on February 28, 1880. He was one of three sons of Theodore and Ida Foulke. He was a Sea Captain who sailed the high seas for over 50 years. I first became knowledgeable about him about a year ago when I purchased my first Foulke Painting. It had the signatures of all the mates of that Sailing Ship. That one like this one and two others that I am listimg on my web site All three are of sailing ships and were probably done in Gloucester, Massachusetts as they resemble art work style of Boats in Gloucester. This painting as the other two are in Very Good Condition with no problems.
