A lot of painting for the money. Cheever was born in 1907 and died in 1986. He was living in Amherst,New Hampshire when he died. We recently came across this information and more info to follow from an acquaintance of his. Cheever was doing covers for the National Sportsman Magazine when he was a teenager. Those works of art are as good as Phillip Goodwins that are presently selling for six-figures. He also studied with Philip Hale, traveled to the Hebrides on a Museum School scholarship and taught later at the Boston Museum School and at Phillips Academy in Andover. His accomplishments are long and varied.
