A fine Pre-Columbian Maya poly-chrome vessel from the Ulua Valley of Honduras, ca. 600 A.D. – 900 A.D. Features an elegant lobed shape around the center, sitting atop a circular pedestal foot. It features stylized iconography overall, typical for Ulua Valley vessels. There are two central panels showing an elaborately adorned individual wearing a large headdress, separated by two black square panels, perhaps representing obsidian mirrors- symbolic as portals to the Underworld. Condition: This vessel is in exceptional condition, with mineral deposits overall and heavy black Manganese blooms inside attesting to the age and authenticity of this piece. Measurements: 5 1/2" in diameter by about 5 1/4" in height. You will receive a Free Certificate of authenticity with your purchase guaranteeing the authenticity of your piece along with provenance information. Guaranteed satisfaction or your money back. |
