Small Japanese bronze temple/altar vase finely decorated and inlaid with silver, copper and gold overlay (flower, leaf and bird). The vase has two reserves of trees, flowers and birds (that include the silver and gold decor) with a multi-leaf copper inlay on the upper section of the trumpet shaped mouth. The handles are made in the shape of elongated foo lions. The silver inlay is in the form of a wave design around the upper lip of the vase, in the trees, flowers and leaves with a swirl design around the bottom. The base of the vase has an impressed maker mark. The vase is in good condition, but has a few small indentations around the base and upper rim. The interior of the mouth has some green patina and darkened bronze from age, and there are some darkened age spots around the exterior of the vase. The vase measures 5” H x 4” from handle to handle, and weighs 1.6 lb. Age is late 1800’s.
