Large Chinese Famille Rose porcelain basin, decorated with the “Hundred Antiques” designs. The basin has a turned-up edge with a 1-1/2” banner of pink, turquoise and yellow enamel with triangles and Greek Key design, divided by four floral reserves. The interior sides are beautifully decorated in colored enamels of the “Hundred Antiques” designs, including the “Eight Treasures”, “Four Treasures”, “Four Fine Arts symbols”, “Musical Instruments”; and “Amusements…chess; Scroll, Written Characters… calligraphy; and Paintings”) as well as other miscellaneous items. The center of the bowl features two enameled Pheasants with chrysanthemums and a cherry blossom tree with foliage. The exterior sides are decorated in a rust-red peony design, and it has a flat unglazed bottom. The size of the basin is 14-3/4” Diameter x 5” H, and it weighs 6.9 lbs. The basin is in excellent overall condition with the exception of minor loss of glaze on the top edge (frits), and it has no cracks, breaks or repairs. The Period is from 1840-1860.
