| Authentic period bronze Thai Buddha in style of Dvaravati. The figure is seated on a double lotus base with hands held out at the waist in the “teaching Buddha” position. The hair shows hand workmanship rather than being just cast as part of the bronze figure and is tightly curled around his head. The Buddha also features elongated earlobes and downcast eyes, typical of early castings. The robe is draped over the Buddha’s left shoulder, and his feet are shown emerging beneath the bottom of the robe. Condition: Very good condition with some signs of discoloration and darkened patina due to age. Date: Circa Pre-1800’s. Size/Weight: 9”H x 4-1/4”W x 5”D; 3.2 lbs. | |||||||||||||||
