Period: Ming Dynasty, Hebei Province, China 1368-1644.

Size: This excellent jar is 20.5" / 52 cm tall.

Condition: Good, no visible repairs. Color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age.

Description: This large stoneware jar was made during the 16th / 17th century at the Cizhou kilns. It was made for the storage of wine and is heavily-potted with the decoration in underglaze iron .
